[GALo] 2nd try .. GA Locations list email

Free School University eden at occupyboston.org

NOTE:

I think the list will show-up in the subject line as [GALo] when to
send to the list you, I believe must write
'GALocation at lists.occupyboston.org'
I'll correct if this is a problem. I don't like it when I can't see
the subject cause the name is too big.

MOST IMPORTANT we can NOT use St Paul's so, someone must find a spot
for tonight. And if many of you agree, I think I should reserve St
Paul's for Tue.

Second who is available to work on this today and who is the point
person .. someone who will be on email until we know where GA will be.
And that person need someone's email who can change the main dot org
.. Gunner, I think or Gregg, likely others.

Monica can help call the places and if you call, remember you are
representing OB and even if they aren't right for GA OB wants them as
supporters and likely will want their space for something (WG
meetings, film series, parties ...) and THANK YOU for stepping-up,
night, night, eden

Facilitation's sites list:

4am ...
To be clear, I will not be working on this after 9:30 or 10am, and
wont have much time prior to dao anything but add people to the list.
Or help Mariamawh with moderation if the emails are unreadable.
thx, eden

PRIOR EMAILS:

Contacts prior to our list email being up: eden at occupyboston.org,
mariamawh at gmail.com, femmervox at hotmial.com  Eden: list moderator;
Maria: list moderator, contact for JQSchool, Suffolk; Monica: calling.
Matthew is a member from the Facilitation team ... plz send this out
to their list. MatthewOates81 at yahoo.com

Our proposal, as presented by Maria, was to become a working group (as
such we are entitled to $100/week so, can request these funds to start
with to pay for a janitor's overtime). We need 2 people to be the
financial liaisons to collect those funds and to write a proposal for
additional funds ... who?

For tomorrow we need:
1. Who can get our info on the main OB page?
2. Who will make a banner for the outside of the space?
3.2 or 3 people to be at the bandstand to direct people to the site.
People can email me or Maria to get on the list.

When contacting a potential location (gather info, even if not really
right for GA, as OB also needs smaller venues for WG's and other
activities).

Get this information:
1.Contact person
2. Best way to contact IE ph +/or email or web scheduling and in the
case of phone, when to call.
3.How large is the largest group allowed.
4.Do they have smaller rooms? Especially that can be used prior for
facilitators or is there somewhere quite close they could recommend.
5.(If) What is the start & end times available? (keep in mind GAs are
7pm TU & Thur & 5pm S & Sun)
6. flexibility: what happens if we go overtime and how far in advance
do we need to schedule (we'll want a few back-ups).
7. Is there a large option, like a gym or auditorium or even a large
lobby if we have a large turn-out. Let them know we don't necessarily
need seating.
8. We would like to give them something towards their costs ... what
are their out of pocket costs, and do they usually charge for the room
and must they charge us?

Things to keep in mind:
A. Does this location give us visibility IE can 'guests' easily find
us, the press ...
B.Are there other options near by?
C. Sat & sun estimate, maybe 300+ people ... 500?

Other options close (easily walked to from bandstand)enough for tomorrow:

SEIU events room, 26 West St .. big advantage they already are letting
OB use the spaces, disadvantage sometimes they don't call back quickly.

Quincy Josiah School, in the cafeteria, advantage we've also, been
there, they invited us back and Rich worked there for many years and
is a good contact. Draw backs, is this considered a 'community center'
and do we need a permit for more than a 50 person gathering? We may
only be able to use until 9pm .. is this really a problem if we are
starting at 5pm?

Arlington St Church

Suffolk auditorium, Maria is the contact here.

First Church of Boston, UU on Marlborough St.

Swedenborg (sp?) Church

A T ride away:

Regi Lewis, at Roxbury Crossing, also has a track which could hold a
really large crowd, Do they really want people in there? (wrong shoes,
food etc).

Mass art Basket Ball court. where is this?

Episcopal Divinity School
99 Brattle st, Camb, 02138 (Harvard Station) I have contact info, I
think (hope) Mariah or Monica also has ..Kwok wrote it down 2x).

End of notes ... will someone look for the facilitator's list of
locations on the wiki and reply all with the URL.

I did send off this info to IT, unfortunately haven't heard back yet,
I did contact in person before GA was over in person .. so they
understand our urgency. Don't know if they are busy or went to sleep
already. IS, eden

PRIOR EMAIL:
We can use StPaul's Tue & Fri. Let me know if I should call and let
Kwok Pui Lan (our contact) know ... I suggest we take it for Tue and
likely (or tentatively) for Fri.

I will bring a copy with her phone # and the password for to moderate
this list tomorrow, I will give it to either or both: Monica Raymond,
Maria.

If any of you don't want to be on the GALocation email serve plz let
me know before I add you .. this is my personal; email and can work
for now ...however, I'll leave by 10:30 and then won't be back to
email until; after GA.

I suggest we ID 2 or 3 people who are available for email later into the day.

I'll keep writing note and send more so, email back and confirm your
availability for tomorrow.

If someone could look up the wiki page (facilitation) that has
possible locations and send URL that would be helpful.

Also send to the facilitation list (and their email) and tell them to
email me: eden at occupyboston.org, mariamawh at gmail.com,
femmervox at hotmial.com ... if they want to be on the GALocation list.
IS, eden
