Hi everyone,
I have been working to make sure a similar resolution has been passed for
the City of Cambridge (my hometown).
Sure enough, on 10/24/11, the Cambridge City Council passed the following
resolution order:
*That the City of Cambridge hereby joins other communities across the
country and calls upon the United States Congress to pass and send to the
states for ratification, a constitutional amendment to reverse Citizens
United v. Federal Election Commission and to restore constitutional rights
and fair elections to the people.*
I now have a commitment from City Councilor Cheung to pass another
resolution at next week's meeting -- this one would express support for
Senate 772 in particular.
Will these actions bring us in line with what is being planned for Boston?
Or do people think there needs to be additional activity out of Cambridge
on this front?
Please share any ideas -- thanks again!
Mike
